Highflange.com was born in late 2008 over a cup of coffee and a bit of casual conversation with a good friend. I had become frustrated with the gamut of cycling blogs where every bit of equipment got a positive review and the authors had become slaves to journalistic payola or even simply fanyboyism. Shortly thereafter and many, many domain searches later HighFlange.com was registered and online.
I recruited two friends and we began writing with a goal to fill the vacuum of details about the Texas cycling scene while still covering things that would interest a national audience. We wanted to be the Engadget of the cycling world with a bit of local touch. Unfortunately our dreams never came to fruition as we struggled with gaining traffic, keeping readers and even simply agreeing to what kind of content we would allow.
