Giro d'Italia Stage 16 Climb

The Giro d’Italia stage 16 finish is the very definition of pain as you ride up a 24% grade dirt road in a cloud of dust at 7440 feet above sea level.

This shot a bunch more photos of the pros suffering like you’ve never seen are available via the Cycling Tips blog.

Footage of the Amgen Tour Of California Crash

Looks like a rough day for Lance Armstrong as not only was he accused of doping by former teammate Floyd Landis but he got involved in this race ending crash at the Amgen Tour of California.

The irony?  Amgen is the producer of Erythropoietin, or EPO.  EPO is a glycoprotein hormone that controls red blood cell production and is the very drug that Floyd Landis is accusing Lance Armstrong of having used during his career as a pro cyclist.

I’ve always wanted to get a ticket on my bike for speeding.

Lance Armstrong testing out the Trek Unity TTBut it looks like you have to be Lance Armstong (literally) to get one. Unfortunately the reality is that this photo was taken as a Texas state trooper gives Lance Armstrong a hard time for riding his bike on the road.  You know, the road that cyclists are supposed to share with cars.

Competitive Cyclist Reviews Electric DuraAce “Di2″

I’m skeptical too: Mainly because of the price. Mechanical Dura Ace works great at a fraction of the price. You might even say that Mechanical Ultegra works just fine for 99.999% of serious race riders.

So who else besides Tri-geeks (who enjoy urinating on themselves mid race, take that straw man!) would actually buy this?
